I have recently retired as an independent consultant in higher education. I continue to work as a researcher and writer about higher education, specialising in areas relating to educational development.
My current research interests are:
1. (with Dr Rebecca Turner) Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education - their origins, development and impact.
2. Educational Development: its history, character and values.
3. Peer Review of Teaching
Short Biography
David Gosling has written widely on topics relating to learning and teaching in higher education and in applied philosophy. He taught philosophy and education in the UK and Malawi before becoming Head of Educational Development at the University of East London, UK. He is now Visiting Professor at the University of Plymouth and works as an independent researcher. In this capacity and as an HE consultant he has worked with universities in the UK, South Africa, Australia, Ireland, Spain, Russia, and Germany.
